Praveen Kumar,
PhD Student
Hello Everyone! Welcome to my world of robotics. I am an inquisitive, motivated, and math loving graduate student with experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering, Robotics, Physics Simulation, and Machine Learning. I am always looking for ways to expand my knowledge in various areas of engineering and would love to collaborate with anyone with similar interests.
Research Statement
Constant rise in industrial and domestic usage of robots for commercial applications has led to the need for rapid, efficient, and reliable robotic system development. The current prospect of robots requires them to be safe, secure, and robust; operate in unstructured, dynamic environments; coexist and interact with humans. One of the fundamental problems in intelligent robotic system development is combining modeling, simulation, and deployment into one piece in order to reduce cost and effort put into the process. The methodology behind building intelligent machines that can coexist with the human community with a sense of necessity has always captivated me.
With that being said, the following are the problems I'm currently excited about:
-
Mutli-finger Robotic Hand Design
-
Code Generation Systems for Real Time Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis of Robotic Systems
-
Learning Visuo-Tactile based Control Policies for Contact-Rich Dexterous Robot Manipulation
-
Ontology Frameworks for Contact-Rich Dexterous Robot Manipulation
